Branding & Packaging

One of my tasks in my second year of university was to create an editorial design piece that included 12 inspirational designers. This was to include layout, original design and original copywriting.

The Process

This brief really excited me and I was eager to get into it. While researching and looking through inspiration, I was amazed by the different ways text could be laid out and all the creativity that goes into it.

I went through a few ideas and layouts with lots of use of colour and illustrations, however, I found that instead of focusing on the design of the booklet I should consider the artists I would be talking about and how best to make their work the centre of the attention within each page about them. 

​

In the end, I decided to create the book using bold colours and typography with each colour coordinating with each page of the artist. The aesthetic was minimal in order to really make the art within stand out.
